Literature Text

I am folly.
I am fallen.
I am cast out of
The above.

I am sickness,
I am stricken,
I'm infectious.
Poisonous.

Take a drink of me...
What do you think of me?
Can you even see?
Or have I rendered you blind?

Have I rendered you blind?
Search with your hands, and tell me what you find.

I have done the very worst of things to you.
Heaven knows I may do worse before I'm through.
It churns in me, this sickness that comes of knowing
There's another side to me than the one that I've been showing.

I don't want to be the worst that I could do.
I want to offer something worthy of you.

The soul is starving, thinner,
Like the unsteady hand.
I may be sinner,
But I'm still a man.

We all need such things
As cover from the winds,
And moments in the light.

Wrap me in your wings,
Forgive me of my sins,
And just hold me tonight.
This is a poem I wrote from the viewpoint of a character I love.

I really love this! The imagery is striking. :D  What character is this from, if I may ask?
